Introduction
The department was established in 1994. The objective is to provide students with the essential techniques and knowledge to solve problems related to production management and quality control of factory. Currently, there are thirteen faculty members, five professors, five associate professor, two assistant professors and one lecturer. The curricula include a 4-year bachelor program and a master’s program. Presently, more than 500 students are enrolled in all programs.
Goals and Characteristics
The objectives of the department are to pursue knowledge, truth, and excellence in a student-centered academic community characterized by shared values, unity of purpose, diversity of opinion, mutual respect and social responsibility. The department is also to educate students with increased active learning and faculty/student interaction, focusing on integration of design, communications, computation, and the understanding of industrial management. The vision of the department is to have a partnership of faculty, staff, students, alumni, government and corporations working together to provide the highest quality of education and to continue building one of the nation’s best industrial management program.

Facilities
The department provides a well-established research and teaching environment with computers and related facilities for the purposes of student practical training and academic research. By far, the department owns 7 labs and a few multi-functional seminar rooms, including Ergonomics Laboratory, Automation Laboratory, Material Management Laboratory, Work Study Laboratory, e-Business Laboratory, Cognitive Systems Engineering Laboratory, Quality Management Laboratory, Ladder Classroom, Audio/Visual Room, Seminar/Project Discussion Room, and etc.

The career of an industrial management graduate can obtain employment in the fields of IE, production management, quality management, business management, information, marketing, and etc. Many courses are designed to train students to obtain professional license such as Industrial Engineer, Industrial Safety Engineer, Quality Control Engineer, Project Manager, Certified Reliability Engineer, Quality Control Technician, Level A and B technician for labor safety management, and etc.
